Excel Not Recognizing Numbers

Excel Not Recognizing Numbers - I've copied numeric values from a powerpoint presentation into a column in excel however, when i try to convert to numeric it just remains as text. 0 my excel vba functions works on text values but when the lookup value contains numbers only, the xlookup can't find a match. I would like to create a formula which calculates if a number is in between two numbers. Find the one with the name in brackets as roman. The default names are sheet1, sheet2, sheet3, etc. The problem is that excel isn't recognizing the numbers. I've tried to go through and just press delete over the blank cells, but i. Vlookup not detecting integer/number matches problem: If both are positive numbers it works, however, if one is negative it always returns. So my question is how can i still do that, but with these blank cells which excel thinks aren't blank?
